Webinar: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

The webinar will begin with a basic description of machine learning, assuming no prior technical knowledge, but with a focus on the types of data problems that can be solved with some different types of neural-network based solution strategies.  Then it will transition to Open iT’s experience with machine learning, describing some of the successes we have had improving the accuracy of predictions their product can make, and how it helps their customers to understand their IT asset usage better.  Finally Tom Rosenwinkel will describe some of the further problems Open iT are addressing and what they expect the successes and challenges to be.  In conclusion, he will return to the general principles of machine learning to show how their work might generalize to some other common business problems.

About the Presenter:

Open iT is a software company that enables customers to meter, analyze, and optimize their IT assets.

Tom Rosenwinkel is Data Scientist at Open iT, Inc. He began his career as a full time Math professor for five years, launching courses in many areas of Applied Math for a growing private university.  He then gained experience leading and coordinating support teams and software engineering projects for five years at the largest EMR provider in the US.  He applies his research, teaching, leading, and implementing skills as the first Data Scientist at Open iT, where he is the owner and lead developer for the LicensePredictor module.  Tom’s passion is to understand how iT can better manage software licenses and other assets and apply the latest big data and machine learning solutions in as lean and usable manner as possible.
